Streaming Audio and Video Sites:

:
Streaming Audio and Video Sites

There are hundreds, if not thousands, of radio and TV stations that broadcast over the Internet.  Most have a button somewhere on the page, usually at the top, most likely on the right side.  There is no real standard for this.  Some stations broadcast over iHeartRadio (free sign-up), Radio.com (also free), or have their own Adobe Flash player.  iHeartRadio allows you to save stations as favorites. If the station uses a Flash player, you can save that player as a bookmark / favorite and play directly from that without having to go to the station every time.  I included a few players in the list below.
Audio only broadcasts are pretty light on the bandwidth.  They can usually be played over a dialup connection.  So if you live in an area that has poor radio reception, you can try the links.  Video uses lots of bandwidth and isn’t recommended for slow connections or connections with low data caps, such as satellite.
One way to find a station is to just search, with Google or Bing or your search engine of choice, the call letters.  Most stations will be online, and many of them will stream their broadcasts for free.  Even some shows will stream a broadcast, like Into Tomorrow and Computer America, on their sites.

Hour Two: Dr. Jan Camenisch, Cryptographer at IBM Research.

We all use electronic services increasingly often in our daily lives. To do so, we have no choice but to provide plenty of personal information for authorization, billing purposes, or as part of the terms and conditions of service providers. Dispersing all these personal information erodes our privacy and puts us at risk of abuse of this information by criminals.
Identity Mixer allows users to minimize the personal data they have to reveal in such transactions. For instance, if electronic identity (eID) cards were realized with Identity Mixer, then teenagers possessing such eID cards could log onto a teenage chat room just proving that they are indeed 12–15 years of age without revealing any other information stored on the card such as their name or address.
