- According to evangelist Harold Camping today was supposed to be the
beginning of the end of the world. His followers raised money to
purchase billboards across America to warn people of the impending doom,
and many of them quit their jobs and withdrew their children from
school. To the best of our knowledge, this prediction turned out to be
false.
